The Mara Intrepids Lodge- Kenya

The Mara Intrepids Club is located in the center of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, on the banks of the Talek River near one of the major annual wildlife migration crossings. It lies on latitude 1 49"S and longitude 35 20E and at an altitude of 5,300 ft above sea level. Mara Intrepids club is at a distance of 298 Km from Nairobi.

The Intrepids club is a luxurious tented camp, with 30 modern tents of a capacity of 60 persons. Tents are either twin or double bedded and are arranged in groups of two, three or four units to make individual mini-camps. All tents are self-contained with own bathrooms with shower flush, wash hand basin, hot and cold water and electricity.

The public areas are under a makuti and gum pole construction. The dining room has a seating capacity of 70. Breakfasts and lunches are served on champagne terrace overlooking the Talek River. Afternoon tea is available. There is a well stocked main bar.

The camp has private lounge/dining tent for each two, three or four tent units, private bar equipped with refrigerators in each of the 'mini-camps', comfortable four wheel-drive vehicles for game drives, swimming pool, residents' reference library, video room with wildlife video library, Gift Shop, elevated viewing tower for cocktails, suspension bridge over the Talek River, safe deposit facility for valuables, baited tree for leopard, and indoor games are available from reception.

EA-ECOCONSULT will arrange for your game drives into the Mara at dawn as the animals wake up and try to get their first meals. At midday, you will be able to encounter a herd of elephants heading for the swamp, cheetah cubs playing in the shade, lion stalking an antelope, hyenas scavenging over a dead Zebra. Our professional drivers will astonish you with varying tell-tales on wildlife biology ecology, cultural setups of Maasai, and all have a talent of where and when to find animals.

You may also view the Maasai Mara and its amazing wildlife and scenery from the Hot Air Balloons. You will be suspended in the basket beneath the balloon, where game observation will be superb. From the air, you will be able to recognize some of the funny animal noises below, and infact see all the activity beneath, just a few metres from the animals.
